This course will provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering and prepare graduates for entry into the Associate Degree of Civil Engineering (HED001). In this course students receive an introduction to engineering mathematics, 2D CAD modelling, as well as civil design and drafting. Students will learn how to use mathematical operations to solve engineering problems, develop an understanding of one of the most commonly used drafting packages in the civil design industry, and be introduced to the fundamental elements of a broad range of engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic.

Applicants who do not meet the age criteria are required to participate in an Interview with the TAFE Queensland Course Coordinator prior to an offer being made by QTAC.
