Bachelor of Music (Honours)/Bachelor of Arts
The University of Queensland - St Lucia

Course outline

The Bachelor of Music (Honours) produces professionally qualified musicians in various fields of specialisation. It is for those wanting to pursue a professional career in music and integrates the development of practical skills with theoretical and historical musical knowledge. The course focuses on a balance between practical and theoretical skills in earlier years and allows for increasing specialisation in the final two years. The first two years provide students with a foundation in music techniques, aural studies, music history, performance and ensembles. The Arts component develops skills in written communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and interpersonal understanding. Students can choose majors that complement their music studies or broaden their knowledge in other fields. For more information, visit Bachelors of Music (Hons)/Arts at UQ.
