In this three-year program, students will gain a broad understanding of healthcare, studying biomedicine, ethics, evidence-based practice, health behaviours and nutrition. Students will specialise in clinical health, nutrition, or public health, and get hands-on experience during their final semester of study with a minimum of 90 hours of supervised work experience. The masters program is delivered through a clinical schools model with a combination of lectures on campus and at a healthcare facility and must be completed on a full-time basis.

Students must complete the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Nutrition) at UQ within the minimum time specified with a minimum annual GPA of 5.0, before progressing to the Master of Dietetics Studies program. On admission to the masters program, requirements such as Blue Card, current status with respect to blood-borne transmissible viruses and tuberculosis (TB) and a schedule of immunisations must be met.
