Bachelor of Engineering Technology
CQUniversity - Bundaberg

Course outline

This course prepares students for a versatile career in engineering as a specialist in technology. It is a versatile degree with options to major in traditional engineering disciplines or pursue a career as an aircraft maintenance engineer through the aircraft maintenance (avionics) major. Choosing the civil, electrical or mechanical majors allows students to build in-depth knowledge of engineering concepts and be highly trained in software, simulating modelling and the ability to assist engineers with the technology design and systems management in an engineering project.

Delivered in partnership with Aviation Australia, the aircraft maintenance (avionics) major provides an accelerated pathway to reach the Licence Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) status in just three years, usually requiring five-years. The first two years of the course would cover all the competencies of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Aviation Australia Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics) and foundations of professional engineering. Students will study on-campus in the Aviation Australia Brisbane campus for the first 1.5 years and then can move to the online mode or one of the CQUniversity undergrad engineering campuses to complete the rest of the course. Upon completion of the first 1.5 years of the students will be awarded the EASA approved Aviation Australia Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics). For more course information, visit Bachelor of Engineering Technology.

Note

Online students of this course will be required to attend a CQUniversity location or other designated location for compulsory residential schools in some units.

Majors
