In this double degree you’ll combine design creativity with business skills to allow you to take advantage of the commercialisation of visual communication design, interior and spatial design, product design, interaction design and immersive design. You will have a unique range of skills and abilities to bridge the creative-business divide. You’ll gain an understanding of the changing role of design and have the opportunity to experience industry-related and research projects while specialising in selected studio areas. Graduates have a broad range of skills in creative design that they can effectively combine to manage creative ventures from a business perspective. Through your extensive practical experience opportunities, you’ll graduate with strong business networks and the authentic knowledge to apply your skills to a broad range of business environments. To be considered for portfolio admission, applicants must apply to QTAC, pay the portfolio fee and submit their portfolio to Griffith University by 6 September 2023. Applicants will still be able to apply after this date and be considered for ATAR/Rank admission.
From 2024 there will be two admission pathways to the Bachelor of Design/Bachelor of Business. Applicants may be considered via one of the following:

Portfolio and interview (optional)
Admission via portfolio requires applicants to submit a portfolio and attend an interview. Portfolios are submitted directly to Griffith University via an online submission portal by the 6 September closing date. Portfolio applicants will be invited to attend an interview at Queensland College of Art, South Bank or the Gold Coast campus or via Teams from 25 – 29 September 2023. Applicants should also refer to this Portfolio website for the most up to date advice and messaging. Griffith University will commence making offers on 17 November 2023, and continue to make offers to applicants via both portfolio and ATAR/Rank in subsequent offer rounds. However, applicants are encouraged to submit a portfolio and attend an interview even if confident they will meet the ATAR/Rank Guarantee. Applicants must nominate if they wish to be considered via ATAR/Rank and/or Portfolio and interview admission on their QTAC application and pay the $55 non-refundable portfolio submission fee to Griffith University.
