The Advanced Entry pathway is designed to advance knowledge, research, and practice for applicants who are already registered professionals in counselling or other allied mental health disciplines. Such applicants are not required to meet initial registration requirements. The Master of Counselling equips students with advanced counselling skills, prepares them for practice, extends practice into specialist areas, and can be a pathway to a Doctorate. Other requirements

Master of Counselling students will be required to provide evidence of a Criminal History Check in the form of an Australian Police Certificate. As well as a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and other mandatory documents required prior to professional clinical placement.

Counselling leads to careers in a range of settings: community health centres, schools and universities, as well as for not-for-profit organisations, commercial organisations, government departments and in private practice.
You will be able to graduate with the knowledge, skills and an ethical practice framework that enables you to deliver counselling and psychotherapy interventions covering a wide range of areas: from counselling in relationships to grief and loss, trauma, domestic and family violence, mental health problems and abuse through to counselling for alcohol and other drugs.
