Course outline

Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Programming specialisation): Advance your IT career with this diploma level course and learn specialist skills that will help you qualify to work in the programming field. In this specialisation students will learn how to build advanced user interfaces and implement a model view controller framework. Students will also learn how to match ICT needs and provide strategic direction to business, including how to promote workplace cyber security. Bachelor of Information Technology: The degree prepares skilled graduates for a myriad of industries. The program focuses on the development of web-based business applications and includes an optional internship. Students undertake studies in programming, systems analysis and design, cyber security, database development, networking and communications theory. Students also learn about issues confronting the information and communications technology industry, including employer obligations, employee rights, impacts on society, and future directions of the industry.

Note

This combined qualification leads to the awards of the Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Programming specialisation) and Bachelor of Information Technology. The degree is delivered by TAFE Queensland in partnership with Southern Cross University. Applicants offered a place in the diploma course who are not eligible for a subsidised enrolment will pay full fee. Fee subsidies and VET Student Loans may be available to eligible applicants for study in the diploma, refer to tafeqld.edu.au/study-with-us/what-it-costs/index.html for more information. The degree is a Commonwealth supported place.
