The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology is an exciting double degree that prepares students for a wide variety of career paths within the burgeoning law and justice fields. This course enables graduates to proceed to practice as a legal practitioner after completing the required professional training. During the course, students will learn about legal procedures and key legislation, and be given the opportunity to develop skills necessary to identify, analyse and evaluate facts in relation to legal frameworks. Throughout this course, students will integrate insights from sociology, philosophy, social theory, politics, psychology and other relevant disciplines to solve problems of crime, violence and conflict in society. This double degree puts the law into context and is particularly valuable for those graduates who intend to practise in criminal law. Other requirements

Some elective units in the law component may require students to complete work placement or an overseas placement. Students will complete a criminology capstone unit, and have the choice of a research capstone or work placement capstone. The criminology work placement capstone unit enables students to apply the theories, content knowledge and skills they have learned to a workplace environment. English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years

Career opportunities
