Course outline

The Bachelor of Design is a two-year degree, delivered over six trimesters undertaken at either of Whitehouse Institute’s Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane campuses.
Whitehouse is an industry leader with regard to the amount of face-to-face teaching and learning hours that you receive on campus during your two year Bachelor of Design degree with us.
We proudly deliver an exceptional 1,728* hours over two years and we encourage you to compare. You won’t find another degree like it in Australia. With very close connections to industry and cultural resources, Whitehouse’s approach is always forward-thinking and ambitious. Students undertake a trimester model of study, achieving a Bachelor of Design in just 2 years, allowing students to launch their career in the design industry 1 year earlier than most university graduates. Students can further their qualification by undertaking a Master of Design in just 12 months.
The Bachelor of Design is based on six trimesters with five subjects taught in each trimester. It comprises of 18 core subjects and 12 specialisation subjects. To qualify for the award of the degree Bachelor of Design a candidate shall accrue and aggregate of 288 credit points, including satisfactory completion of all subjects.
Our philosophy is to create a learning environment in which innovation and originality are nurtured within the full spectrum of design and marketing practice. We aim to produce versatile design specialists, who are able to solve problems creatively while drawing on a deep knowledge of their chosen fields and a critical understanding of the social, economic and cultural factors influencing their professional environment.


Study cost is $12,550 per study period. The Bachelor of Design is Fee-help approved.
