Course outline

The Undergraduate Certificate in Game Art enables students to learn game art processes, computer graphics, game engine workflows, audio, game design and animation principles for Games. Students will apply technical skills and collaborative team processes, and engage in the development of workplace skills desired by this industry.

Key topics covered within the program include:
game art methods, 3D modeling, Audio and interfaces for games, animation principles, game asset production, game design principles, creative problem solving, critical reflection, working under supervision in a paraprofessional role, introductory game design and critical reflection processes, technical pipelines and workflow.

To complement your technical skills, you will graduate with skills across: employability skills specific to creative media, communication, including how to communicate specialist technical and creative ideas and perspectives in the games development discipline to others, teamwork and collaboration in the context of creative media, scholarly techniques for higher education.

Upon completion, you will be eligible for up to 30 credit points towards the Diploma of Game Development.

Duration is three months full-time.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Game Art is an online program, supported by SAE’s Australian campus infrastructure and facilities. Students wishing to enroll in the program are advised that they will require access to the following specialised hardware and software resources to complete the projects contained within the program.

Computer Hardware: modern Windows computer with specifications suitable for gaming and high-end computer graphics.

Software: Unity game engine, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Creative Cloud.

Commonwealth Supported Place – $3,975.00 for eligible students (HECS-HELP available for this remaining cost, as well)

Available for full-time studies for the September 2021 intake only. The course must be completed by the 31st of December 2021.

Not available to current Year 12 students.
