Course outline

The Graduate Diploma of Counselling is based on an integrated framework of the theoretical, practical and ethical components of counselling. The course suits those with a degree in another discipline who want to qualify as a counsellor, without undertaking an undergraduate qualification.

Prerequisites

• Completion of an undergraduate degree in any field from an accredited Higher Education Provider; or
• Completion of a Higher Education Advanced Diploma and relevant work experience (to be assessed); or
• Completion of an Associate Degree in a similar field of study and relevant work experience; and
• Completion of a Counselling Applicant Screening Questionnaire; and
• Completion of a National Criminal History Record check within 30 days of accepting the offer

It is a condition of progression in this course that students complete a police record check in their first trimester of enrolment.
