As a graduate using physical therapy and surgical techniques, you can diagnose and treat heel pain running injuries, footwear problems and corrections, skin problems, tendon and joint injuries.
You develop knowledge in anatomy, biomolecular science, pharmacology, dermatology, and clinical medicine before completing 1000 hours of professional placement at QUT Health Clinics and external facilities.
You participate in biomechanics/musculoskeletal clinics, sports clinics, diabetes foot complication clinics, paediatric clinics, and general podiatric clinics. An honours program based on GPA is available at the end of second year.

A one-week mandatory orientation program is conducted in Orientation Week (the week before the start of semester).
Selection ranks: You will be considered solely on the basis of selection ranks from your prior degree studies plus any postgraduate studies you may have undertaken. Other qualifications and experiences may be allocated selection ranks for entry to other QUT courses, but will not be considered for this course.

A Suitability Card is required; refer to institution. Clinical activities begin during first semester and you are required to provide a serology report demonstrating successful hepatitis B vaccination. The full hepatitis B vaccination course and serology report test can take six to nine months and must be completed before commencing this course in July.

You must have a completed recognised Australian biomedical, health, or medical science bachelor degree completed in 2013 or more recently with a minimum volume of learning of 1.50 year full-time (or equivalent).
Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the degree subject areas listed below. If you don’t have the degree subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge in anatomy, chemistry, pathophysiology/disease processes, physiology, and statistics.
