At the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) our students are our number one priority. Regardless of whether you study on campus or by distance education, our focus is to provide you with personalised support that comes from an understanding and respect for each and every one of your goals. That’s why we give you a Student Relationship Officer (SRO). Your SRO is there to support you on your journey, help you through the challenging
spots and celebrate your successes. Whether you decide to experience university study at either of our three campuses (Toowoomba, Springfield or Fraser Coast), by distance education, online, or a combination of all three – you will find the support of a real community, wherever you are. With thousands
of students from all walks and stages of life, we are proof that a university can work for you. With flexible program structures and passionate staff, our goal is the success of each and every student.
As a USQ student, you become part of a large extended family. Currently, there are more than 25,000 students throughout Australia and the world who are completing their studies through USQ. There are people just like you studying USQ courses in over 100 different countries, with more than 80 nationalities represented on our three campuses. The great thing is you will get to meet some of them throughout your studies! But don’t feel that
not studying on campus excludes you. If you study via distance education
we have made it easy for you to connect with other students who can greatly enrich your learning journey.
Many of our programs offer a three semester intake, so you can start your
degree when you’re ready. A three semester offering means you can fast-track your degree by taking additional subjects over the summer. We realise that life happens, and that’s exciting to us. So if you’re studying on campus and are suddenly relocated, take up a career opportunity of a lifetime or find yourself expanding your family, there is no need to choose between the two. Because our focus is on you, we make it easy for you to continue your studies and live life, no matter what happens. Whether it is changing your mode of study
to distance education or simply rearranging your study load to part-time; whatever happens, we will do our best to keep you connected to your future ambitions.

Distance education
Going to university is a great chance for you to develop and grow as an individual and to study a subject you love in a supportive and challenging environment. Studying by distance education provides you with the opportunity to study regardless of your location, and allows you to continue to fulfil other life commitments such as work, family or travel. It means you can vary the number of courses you take each semester to suit your
circumstances. You can choose to study part of your program at home by distance education and part on campus at our Toowoomba, Springfield or Fraser Coast campuses.
USQ has been providing distance education programs for many years and is an international leader in off-campus or distance education. More than 75 percent of our students study by distance and we provide distance education for students in over 80 countries. USQ was also the inaugural winner of the International Council for Open and Distance Learning (ICDE) prize for institutional excellence for its global education initiatives and expertise in providing flexible learning opportunities around the world.
Student Facilities
USQ offers a range of services including sporting facilities, social, cultural, health and medical, counselling, disability support, orientation, financial assistance, ATSI support, and academic learning services.
