Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is one of Australia’s leading tertiary institutions, offering an extensive choice of innovative undergraduate courses. The strength is the balanced mix of theory and practical experience in leading-edge courses which prepare graduates for employment. QUT continues to outperform Queensland and Australian average rates for graduate employment. The highly qualified full-time teaching staff is complemented by practising professionals who lecture and tutor part-time. They bring their up-to-date knowledge and practical experience of industry and the professions to the classroom, allowing students to become involved in real projects.

QUT has almost 40,000 students on three campuses (city and northern suburbs):

• Gardens Point campus, George Street, Brisbane City • Kelvin Grove campus,
Victoria Park Road, Kelvin Grove • Caboolture campus, corner of Manley and
Tallon Streets, Caboolture

QUT offers approximately 130 undergraduate courses in the comprehensive discipline areas of built environment and engineering, business, creative industries, education, health, law, and science and technology. Programs are offered from undergraduate to doctoral level, with approximately three-quarters of enrolments in bachelor degrees. QUT also offers a wide range of combined or double degree programs.

Oodgeroo unit

The Oodgeroo Unit seeks to redress educational disadvantage by providing opportunities for Indigenous people to pursue tertiary education, and offers academic, personal and cultural support to students enrolled at QUT. The Unit operates on each of QUT’s campuses. QTAC applicants, who identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and nominate QUT as either their first or second preference, will be invited to attend an interview for selection in November for Semester 1 entry and May for Semester 2 entry. The Unit has a dedicated officer who assists Indigenous undergraduate students interested in participating in the National Indigenous Cadetship Program. The program
allows students to participate in professional employment, gain on-the-job experience, and in some instances gain full-time work at the end of their degree. For more  information phone (07) 3138 3610 or 1800 645 513 or visit www.oodgeroo.qut.edu.au.
