The Queensland Institute of Business and Technology (QIBT) is a modern and dynamic educational institution that provides high quality programs in an environment that encourages students to achieve excellence in their studies. Quality teaching, outstanding facilities as well as academic and welfare support services, are central to QIBT’s educational philosophy.

Established in 1997, QIBT is associated with Griffith University and operates from the University’s Mt Gravatt campus. QIBT provides students with an alternative pathway to an Australian university degree in Business/Commerce, Information Technology, Graphic Design, and Hotel Management.

QIBT diploma programs are based on the first year of Griffith University’s bachelor degree programs and are delivered and moderated by Griffith University lecturers. On successful completion of a QIBT diploma program, students may, subject to satisfactory achievement and Griffith University admission policies, apply for entry to the second year of Griffith University’s related bachelor degree programs.

Small lecture, tutorial and workshop groups help promote a personalised and supportive educational environment that encourages students to reach their maximum academic potential. QIBT operates on a tri-semester basis with courses beginning in February, June and October.

Student Facilities

QIBT is located on Griffith University’s Mt Gravatt campus. Students are welcomed as part of the university community and enjoy full access to all university facilities and services including the libraries, bookshops, refectory, café, 24-hour computer laboratories, sports amenities, on-campus accommodation, and employment service. A free shuttle bus service operates daily between the Nathan and Mt Gravatt campuses.

Student Accommodation

Student Support Services

Academic Skills Advisers are available to assist students who require additional academic support during their program of study at QIBT. QIBT also provides a free and confidential welfare and counselling service.
