Workshops and Seminars
QTAC runs workshops for current and prospective QTAC applicants, school guidance counsellors and tertiary institution personnel. QTAC applicants requiring assistance with preparation for the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) or with the Personal Competencies Assessment (PCA) can attend specialist PCA or STAT preparation workshops. School and tertiary institution personnel can attend Tertiary Entrance Process Seminars that aim to familiarise participants with QTAC timelines and outcomes.
Seminars
For the general public
- STAT Preparation Workshop - This whole day workshop assists adults, who may not have studied for some time, in preparation for the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT). Practice quantitative and verbal questions will be covered as well as test-taking techniques.
- PCA Preparation Workshop - This is a 3 hour session which looks at the principles of writing and constructing a Personal Competencies Assessment (PCA) statement. It focuses on assisting applicants to identify their skills and competencies relevant to the tertiary course they are seeking entry to.

For school and tertiary institution personnel only
- Tertiary Entrance Process Seminars - New-to-QTAC and Advanced sessions designed specifically for school and institutional personnel to provide detailed information regarding the QTAC process, schedules and application procedures.
- QTAC Parent/Student Information Session - experienced QTAC staff conduct information sessions at schools, tailored to their requirements. Sessions can cover topics such as QTAC applications, tertiary pathways, VET studies and subject selection. For further information or bookings, please contact TACS on (07) 3858 1298.
Regional seminars may be held in Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns and Toowoomba. Interested participants should register an expression of interest by filling out the Tertiary Entrance Process Seminar form. Final costs and dates will be advised.
