Graduate entry MBBS - UQ School of Medicine
The University of Queensland conducts a four year graduate entry medical program, the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Please note applicants who are applying for the UQ MBBS Provisional Entry for School Leavers scheme for Current Year 12 students are not made offers via this process.
Applying
To apply for the MBBS Program, applicants are required to:
- Register and sit the GAMSAT test, then
- Submit an application via the Graduate Entry Medical School Admissions System (GEMSAS) by Wednesday 29 May 2013.
The GEMSAS computer matching system will calculate GPAs, assess applicants for eligibility and allocate eligible applicants to their highest preferenced medical school.
Offers
The major offer round for The University of Queensland School of Medicine will be released from early September 2013.
A small number of additional offers to eligible applicants will be released from early November 2013.
Responding to Offers
QTAC will email successful applicants to advise that an offer in UQ's Graduate MBBS program has been made and a response must be received the date specified in the mail.
Late responses to offers will NOT be accepted.
Applicants view and respond to offers by logging into the UQ Graduate MBBS service (which is available 24 hours a day). You log into the the UQ Graduate MBBS service with your GAMSAT number and PIN (initially set to the day and month of your birth).
One of the following response options can be selected:
- I accept this offer
- I reject this offer
- I request deferment of this offer
If you are requesting deferment, please note there are strict conditions regarding deferment. Please contact the UQ School of Medicine for more information.
