Prerequisites: Completion of Year 12 or attained Year 12 leaving age; satisfactory portfolio. The portfolio requirement may be satisfied by Authority Art (4,HA). Studies within CUV30103 Certificate III in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft or CUV30203 Certificate III in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts may also satisfy the portfolio requirement

Additional entry information: Portfolios must be submitted directly to the TAFE institute; contact the institute for portfolio requirements. Applicants are selected on the basis of their portfolio only; current school-leavers must submit a portfolio as results for their Authority Art will not be available.

Closing date: QTAC applications for these programs close: 2 November 2012 for semester 1, 2013 entry; and 13 May 2013 for semester 2, 2013 entry. Portfolios and applications will not be accepted after these dates.

Course outline: This program provides students with the opportunity to develop skills and techniques relevant to employment in the visual arts industry. The program includes core competencies in visual culture and professional practice plus elective competencies in studio areas such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital media, drawing, ceramics, jewellery, and community projects.
