Additional entry information : All applicants are asked to present a portfolio at the interview (approximately 30 minutes). Details are available at www.scu.edu.au/visarts. Applicants unable to attend because of distance or other factors must contact the University on (02) 6620 3831 to discuss alternative arrangements. The University will send applicants information relating to interview dates, venues and portfolio requirements by early November 2011. Applicants who have not been contacted by the end of November should phone the University on the above number.

Course outline: Students acquire theoretical knowledge and develop skills in well-equipped purpose-built studios for painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, digital arts, ceramics, bronze casting, and metal fabrication. Students complete one major plus core studies in art theory, studio drawing, design, and studio studies in painting, printmaking and 3D studies (including ceramics and bronze casting). Internships with arts industries can be undertaken on the NSW north coast or students can study for a period at universities overseas. Graduates feature in galleries and art awards, nationally and internationally.

Majors: Arts industry and media arts (including optional units in digital art and design, digital photography, online animation, online media design, professional placement, and arts project); arts industry and technology (including optional units in digital art and design, digital photography, photography, studio drawing, studio elective, and professional placement).

Career opportunities: Professional and community artists, designers, arts administrators, curators, arts writers.
