Course outline: This program is for those wishing to enter the computer games industry. Students acquire knowledge and understanding of interactive entertainment product development and production as well as the functions and operations of fields associated with computer games such as advertising, journalism and media relations. The degree consists of two streams: game design and game studies. Students complete 24 subjects, including four compulsory University core subjects, six compulsory subjects: game studies major, six design subjects, six specialist subjects in either advertising, communication, film and television, journalism, information technology, management, marketing, or public relations and two general electives. The foundation subjects encompass debates on the social, cultural, and artistic impacts of computer games and other digital media. The design stream consists of training in animation, modelling, game play design, game writing as well as practical industry matters.
