Australian Catholic University

Entry to ACU undergraduate courses via Australian Catholic University's Alternative Entry Program is based on an individual interview. The interview will consider previous study, work experience, connection to the Indigenous community, and individual circumstances. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible.

CQUniversity

The CQUniversity's Nulloo Yumbah Tertiary Entry Program (TEP) is designed to teach students, regardless of educational backgrounds and specific skills. The program is presented in a way that affirms Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity and culture, but we welcome people of other heritages to enrol (subject to availability of places). The TEP aims to adequately prepare students for tertiary studies and assist them in achieving future goals. TEP offers a range of compulsory and elective courses. There are no course fees and course materials are provided at no charge. This program is open for people who can read and write but did not complete schooling or for those who want to refresh their learning before beginning a degree or who want to prepare themselves for studying at university. To be eligible for enrolment in this program, student must be: an Australian or New Zealand citizen; a permanent resident; or a holder of a humanitarian visa. Griffith University

The Griffith University's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participation Program coordinated by the GUMURRII Centre, seeks to increase the participation of Indigenous Australian students in the University’s programs. The University provides additional tutoring and support services to assist Indigenous Australian students to undertake tertiary study successfully, including a special Tertiary Preparation Program that is offered to new students before the start of first semester. James Cook University

James Cook University's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scheme is for Indigenous applicants unsuccessful in gaining entry to James Cook University through standard QTAC admission. For more information contact JCU’s Student Enquiry Centre on 1800 246 446.

Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology's Oodgeroo Unit offers support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants to gain entry to QUT through the Unit’s Centralised Assessment and Selection Program (CASP). Students are interviewed and assessed to gauge suitability for university study.  Upon entry, staff assist students with their university studies through a tutorial program (ITAS) as well as provide help with administrative, cultural or other support they may require while studying at QUT. Please see www.qut.edu.au/oodgeroo for more information.

The University of Queensland

The University of Queensland's Alternative Entry Scheme for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People offers another pathway for admission to UQ programs and ongoing student support services through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit. Indigenous Australians are eligible. University of New England

University of New England's Internal Selection Program offers alternative entry for admission through attending an intensive study and skills weekend and selection process. University of Southern Queensland

University of Southern Queensland's Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Programoffers studies in Literacy, Numeracy, Computers, and Indigenous Studies. Successful completion of the program may lead to enrolment in a USQ undergraduate program, increased employment opportunities, and the opportunity to apply for entry into other universities. Indigenous applicants 17 years and over are eligible.

University of the Sunshine Coast

University of the Sunshine Coast's Indigenous Alternative Entry Scheme offers another avenue for admission to tertiary study at USC through an informal interview process.  Indigenous Australians are eligible. Please ring (07) 5459 4799 or email: Indigenous_Services@usc.edu.au for more information.
