Non-Year 12 Entry
Employment Experience
If you believe your formal qualifications may be insufficient for tertiary entry you may wish to have your employment experience taken into account.
Note: This information is mandatory only where employment experience is a prerequisite for the course for which you apply.
If you have spent more than the equivalent of six months full-time in paid employment you should clearly outline this on your QTAC application, including your job title and the main duties you performed.
Your employment experience does not have to be related to the courses you want to study.
Documenting your employment experience
It is essential that your employment experience be substantiated by way of certified copies of signed statements from your employers. These statements must be dated, on official letterhead and must include the following information;
- job title
- duties performed
- type of employment (full-time, part-time or casual)
- length and dates of service (including number of days or hours per week for part-time or casual employment)
If you have been self-employed, you must provide supporting documents from your accountant, solicitor or tax agent on official letterhead identifying the same details as above as well as the type of business and length of time the accountant, solicitor or tax agent has been of service to you and the relevant business.
Note: A personal resume, curriculum vitae, group certificates, pay slips and tax returns are not sufficient for assessment.
Please contact QTAC Information Services for more information about assessment of employment experience.
