Additional Qualifications
In addition to their Senior studies, many Year 12 students complete additional qualifications that may be assessed by QTAC for tertiary entry purposes.
Additional qualifications include:
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) studies, eg Certificate III & IV etc
- Music, dancing and speech and drama qualifications, eg AMEB completed 7th or 8th grade
- Tertiary study, eg START QUT
Providing Information to QTAC
If you have additional qualifications that you would like considered by QTAC that are not listed on your Senior Statement, you would indicate this in your Twelve-to-Tertiary online application. There will be tabs where you will list your qualifications, i.e. Certificate, Bridging, Tertiary, Professional qualifications.
If the qualification will be recorded on your Senior Statement there is no need to send anything to QTAC as we will receive the information automatically through the Queensland Studies Authority or equivalent authority interstate.
If the qualification is not recorded on your Senior Statement or you are completing Year 12 interstate, you should submit the relevant documentation attached to your coversheet. You will be prompted to print this form upon lodgement of your TTT application online. You will need to provide a certified copy of your original documents to QTAC as soon as possible.
Ranks from Additional Qualifications
For some of these qualifications it is possible for students to be allocated a rank by QTAC in addition to their OP or OP ineligible rank. However, whether the rank from the additional qualifications is used in preference to the OP or OP-ineligible rank will depend on institutional policy. The applicant should contact the admissions office of the relevant institution for advice. The QTAC Guide also provides information about the assessment of these qualifications, schedules used and the specific institution policies in regard to these schedules.
